Milestone, the AIM quoted (AIM: MSG) provider of digital media and technology solutions, is pleased to announce the release of its new product, Adequate Procedures Programme ("APP") to assist companies in complying with the Bribery Act 2010.
APP is a unique service which assists companies in measuring compliance with the Bribery Act and assesses what procedures are in place to prevent bribery. APP has been developed in collaboration with BGP Global Services using the FEDS software that Milestone purchased in August 2011.
The Bribery Act 2010 creates a new offence which can be committed by commercial organisations which fail to prevent their employees or any other associated persons from bribing or offering a bribe to another person on their behalf. An organisation that can prove it had 'adequate procedures' in place to prevent this will have a defence.
There are many companies providing awareness training on the issues organisations face under the Act, but few who offer practical tools for assessing not only compliance with the Act but also what procedures are in place to prevent bribery.
APP supports and complements a company's anti-bribery and corruption policy by providing a hassle-free proactive service with automated reporting and a simple to use interface for entry, reporting and a retrieval of information. APP simplifies the process of reporting and monitoring of any activity that many be subject to the Act and can be accessed from any computer as well as mobile devices allowing secure access from any device and from any location thereby providing real-time updates and reporting.
